Cold and Cross

Friday’s commute meant knee warmers, long sleeved wool and a wind vest,
and even then it felt cold all the way home.  Would’ve even worn a
cap if I’d been smart enough to have one in the bag.

But that means it’s getting to be CX season, which has me looking at
photos of muddy folks shouldering bikes and lamenting the lack of
running which I’ve managed over the last month. Because of some
time-frame constraints, the actual racing for me (a dedicated
back-o-the-pack “C”) (which I guess we don’t use anymore, eh?) may be
extremely limited.

At least e-richie has started a cross-specific blog - I’ve added it to the blog list, but it’s worth mentioning specifically.

Richard Sachs CX Bike - Mmmmmmm...

That bicycle is a thing of beauty.  Skinny tires on trails - nothing better!

Here are some photos from the 2005/06 season.

You and Bob Brown must be sharing a mental thread…he’s got a recent “yay nearly cx season!” on his blog too: http://bobbrowncycles.blogspot.com/2006/09/cross-dresser.html

Well, that is what the whole “cyclofiend” name comes from… Can’t wait, myself. NCNCA seems to have started posting rides, which means that the calendar should start looking good. Of course, blackbirdsf is way out in front of all of us in being ready for the best part of the racing season. But, there is a fundraising race in Marin to benefit White Hill School. Click here and then click on the headline to download the pdf for the specifics. Crap. Looks like I’m gonna have to start running afterall…
