I’m Positively Giddy

Adam at Zugster bags just posted the “hot-off-the-needle” photo of my new front rando bag.

Zugster Bags Waxed Canvas Rando bag

Dang!

Can’t wait to see it in person…

More pix (and info) to follow, both from him and from me when I pick it up.  Just had to post something.

Oooh! Purty! (Is that waxed cotton?) Where do we sign up?

    Thanks!

I’ve been wanting a front bag with larger capacity. JimG had been testing a prototype, and it seemed to have everything I wanted. So, as soon as Adam said he could make it with waxed cottotn, I got in the queue. JimG’s “bag-to-order” was number 001.

Wow, that’s a fine looking bag. What sort of rack do you intend to mount it with?

I’m not sure yet. The bag itself has a removeable coroplast stiffener on the base, so I’m going to start by just using the Nitto racks that I have (the “Mini Front” and “Mark’s Rack”). The overlap shouldn’t be more than about 2-3″ per side. (I had Adam make it an inch narrower than the standard medium.) I don’t carry a lot of heavy stuff up front, so we’ll see how it goes.

Hmmm, I will have to stay-tuned then. I bought myself a Berthoud not knowing how or what I am going to mount it on either. My thinking is that I will have a rack made for it along with the rest of the bike (Budget willing of course.) Started my planning for TransIowa 6.0 already with the plan to do it with only a front-bag this time :)

    TransIowa 6.0? Excellent!

Since Adam seldom has space in the queue, I figured that I needed to jump quickly. I am glad I did! Way in the back of my mind, I’m pondering building my first rack, but between work, etc (and the lack of actual knowledge of how to do so…), that may be a bit. Also, the Nitto racks have threaded bosses, so I could add temporary “wings” if need be. Hope you also saw the full set of studio shots here.
